This is a general privacy policy describing how this website works today. Finguard Technologies may adapt it to the specific legal requirements of the jurisdictions in which it operates; for a binding, jurisdiction-specific policy please consult qualified legal counsel.
Finguard Technologies ("Finguard", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our websites — including finguardtechnologies.com, the Finguard ML course, and related pages — and how we use and protect it.
If you contact us (for example at info@finguardtechnologies.com, through a careers enquiry, or via LinkedIn), we receive whatever you choose to share — typically your name, email address, and the contents of your message. We use this solely to respond to you and to manage our relationship with you or your organisation.
The Finguard ML course lets you create a simple profile (a display name, an optional email, and your stated experience level and goals) and tracks which lessons you have completed. This information is saved in your browser using local storage so the course can remember your progress between visits. It stays on your device, is not sent to Finguard's servers, and you can clear it at any time using the "Reset progress" control in the course or by clearing your browser's site data.
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information in server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested) for security and reliability. We do not use this information to build profiles of individuals.
We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We use a small amount of essential local storage for functionality — remembering your course progress and whether you have dismissed our storage notice. Because this storage is strictly necessary to provide a feature you have asked for, it works without intrusive consent banners; the notice we show is purely informational. You can disable or clear this storage in your browser settings, though the course will then be unable to remember your progress.
Where required by law (for example under the GDPR), we rely on your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and improving our services, or the steps necessary to respond to your request.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with trusted service providers who help us operate — such as our website host and email provider — and only as needed to deliver the service. We may also disclose information where required by law.
Some pages link to or embed content from third parties (for example, professional illustrative images, or links to LinkedIn). When you follow such links or load such content, those third parties may receive your IP address and apply their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Information you store in the course remains on your device until you clear it. Correspondence you send us is retained only as long as needed to address your request and to meet legal or operational obligations, after which it is deleted.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to processing or request portability. Because most course data lives only in your browser, you can exercise much of this directly by clearing your site data. For anything we hold (such as emails you have sent us), contact info@finguardtechnologies.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Our services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under the age where parental consent is required in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may process information in countries other than your own. Where we do, we take steps to ensure your information continues to receive appropriate protection consistent with this policy and applicable law.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be made clear on this page.
